Risk Reward offers independent Strategy and Risk consultancy services directly to banks and financial service companies as well as indirectly via IT risk management software firms on a global basis, and in particular, in emerging EMEA and Asian markets.

Currently over 50% of our consultancy assignments are delivered in Western and Southern Africa, with the balance evenly spread among China/Hong Kong, Singapore and the Middle East. Clients include central banks, monetary and audit authorities, training departments of commercial banking associations as well as individual banks. The following are selected examples of Risk Reward consulting assignments:

Project 1 – Market Risk Diagnostic Visit
A major bank in a developing market requested that Risk Reward review the adequacy of their market risk management processes.  An initial diagnosticvis it was undertaken leading to recommendations including the complete replacement of the core banking system and the implementation of a control environment.  Risk Reward is continuing to work with this institution to ensure that it is able to achieve its mission objectives.

Project 2 – Software Selection
A major bank in a developing market requested the advice and guidance of Risk Reward with respect to the selection of suitable software in respect of operational risk. Risk Reward assisted with the development of the Request for Proposals (RfP), developed the long list of potential suppliers and assisted with the selection of the solution to be implemented. Risk Reward is currently working with this institution during the installation phase of this project.

Project 3 – Model Analysis
Risk Reward received a request to analyse an externally designed modeller for a major international firm. The initial review identified significant weaknesses in the approach adopted by the external consultants, which invalidated the modelling approach. A revised modeller was developed by Risk Reward and implemented in conjunction with the client.
